What does OSKA mean?

OSKA means PURE and comes from the Iroquoian language of the Seneca. The word” OSKA” describes our brand from the inside out. It speaks to what’s on the inside of each bottle – natural active ingredients that honour your natural beauty.

What makes OSKA different to other brands?

Not everyone is a chemist, but we are at OSKA. We are passionate about creating highly effective products that go far beyond simply cleansing, conditioning, or styling. OSKA is a lab that uses the ideal concentration of active natural ingredients like proteins, peptides, amino acids, botanical extracts, antioxidants and Amazonian oils and butters that indulge your hair and skin and return them to their most beautiful and healthy state.

Does OSKA test on animals?

No. All OSKA products are cruelty free. We do not test products on animals, nor use any animal by-products in the making of any of our products.

Where is OSKA based and where are OSKA products manufactured?

OSKA was born and raised in Montreal, Canada. All OSKA products are formulated in our in-house R&D lab and manufactured in our facility in St-Laurent.

Is OSKA vegan?

Yes. OSKA provides cruelty-free and vegan products.

What is so special about the ingredients used in OSKA products?

Each of OSKA’s formulas contain an exclusive blend that is custom crafted for different hair needs and replenishes from deep within.

Colour Preserving products are formulated with a unique blend of our exclusive AminoPep Fusion complex, a powerful combination of hydrolyzed quinoa protein, amino acid blend and amaranthus caudatus seed.

Are different OSKA’s shampoos colour safe?

Selecting the best shampoo & conditioner is a vital step in any haircare routine. Where many shampoos can strip the colour from your hair or leave your locks dry and unmanageable, our shampoos are specially formulated to deliver purposeful results when cleansing.

Our entire collections of Colour Care, Repair, Smooth and Thinning Hair Therapy are all plant-powered, colour safe, cruelty-free. They are full of powerful natural ingredients that take you on a journey through nature while nourishing your hair to optimal health.

Are your products scented?

Yes. We formulate our products using both natural and IRFA-compliant, safe synthetic fragrances—crafted safely to enhance your sensorial experience.

What OSKA promise?

We promise to use only the safest and most effective active ingredients in our formulations and to always avoid toxic chemicals and harsh ingredients.

What is the no list ingredients?

We have eliminated most harsh chemicals and harmful synthetics and these ingredients are placed on our NO LIST, a list of ingredients that we pledge to never use. We adhere to the NO LIST in all the steps of our formulations, ensuring 0% of the following: PARABENS, SULFATES, SILICONES (D4, D5 and D6), PHENOXYETHANOL, EDTA, PARAFFIN, MINERAL OIL, SALT PHTHALATES, FORMALDEHYDE & FORMALDEHYDE -RELEASING PRESERVATIVES, TALC, HYDROQUINONE, TRICLOSAN, DIETHANOLAMINE (DEA) and its derivatives, DMDM HYDONTOIN and more, whenever possible As we continue to discover new findings, more and more will be added to our NO LIST whenever possible.

Do you use silicones in your products?

OSKA has formulated its shampoos, conditioners, hair oils and styling products to be free of silicones (D4, D5 and D6) and dimethicone. The real issue with silicones is that certain types can build up on the hair, leaving a residue that blocks moisture from getting into the hair shaft. So, by removing that silicone coating from your rinse, your treatment and conditioning products will work more effectively to repair, restore and protect. The good news is that we use excellent natural alternatives to silicone that deliver very similar sensory performance to dimethicone, cyclopentasiloxane (D5) and cylohexasiloxane (D6), leaving hair or skin feeling smooth and moisturized.
